In this workshop, Eva Champagne guides our exploration into the vivid possibilities of ceramic surface decoration paired with the serendipitous nature of atmospheric firing; what the soda contributes, what it takes away.
The workshop covers forming hand-built and wheel-thrown objects suitable for the soda kiln, using materials like slips and underglazes to create lively surfaces through techniques such as layering and drawing. Participants will experiment with these methods before submitting their work to the final soda firing process.
