Soda-fired, glazed porcelain pendant bezel-set in oxidized sterling silver. Wire-wrapped beads of faceted rhodonite and one beautiful green soft square-cut tourmaline. All sterling silver. All findings handmade. Clasp in back. Necklace length: 44 cm / 17 in.
The watermelon coloration on this glazed porcelain is to me out-of-this-world. If I could get this kind of tourmaline effect dependably I would be over the moon. It was tempting to do a whole tourmaline necklace but I abstained in favor of letting this magic of the firing moment shine. Fired in the BaliCat soda kiln at Gaya CAC in Bali.
